Prize: The prize for the Town & City Gift Cards/Scotland Loves Local Gift Cards ‘Teacher of the Year’ competition is £1250 of Town & City Gift Cards, as listed and available to buy at https://townandcitygiftcards.com/ in September 2024, with the prize issued in three (3) parts as follows: One (1) person who is announced as Teacher of the Year 2024 will win a £500 Town & City Gift Card/Scotland Loves Local Gift Card of their choice. One (1) school or organisation where the person announced as Teacher of the Year 2024 taught at the time of the nomination will win a £500 Town & City Gift Card/Scotland Loves Local Gift Card of their choice. One (1) person who nominated the Teacher of the Year will win a £250 Town & City Gift Card/Scotland Loves Local Gift Card of their choice. The three (3) parts of the prize will be awarded as voucher codes, which the recipients can use to purchase a single or multiple Town & City Gift Cards/Scotland Loves Local Gift Cards of their choice from https://townandcitygiftcards.com/ either physical or digital (where available). The voucher code is valid for 3 months from the date of issue. The voucher code can not be used with any other promotion code, offer or discount. The prize is subject to availability, can not be exchanged for cash, and is not transferable.

How to enter: Entries must be made via the competition entry form http://teacheroftheyear.co.uk including answering the qualifying question: Why does this teacher deserve to be Teacher of the Year? No purchase is necessary. The competition is open to residents of the UK, over the age of 18, except employees of Miconex/Town & City Gift Cards and its clients and partners. Each individual may place one (1) vote for each teacher that they nominate in the competition, additional entries will be disregarded.
How the winner will be selected: One (1) Teacher of the Year will be selected as the teacher who receives the most qualifying votes via the official entry form within the competition entry period (outlined above). Miconex reserves the right to select the winner of their choice as Teacher of the Year, regardless of entries. One (1) person who nominated the person selected as teacher of the Year will be selected at random from qualifying entries after the closing date. One (1) school or organisation where the Teacher of the Year teaches (or taught at) at the time of the nomination will be eligible to receive their portion of the prize. If there are insufficient entries (less than one (1) entry across the UK) then the prize will not be allocated.
How it will be awarded: The one (1) person selected at random who nominated the Teacher of the Year will be notified by email within 3 working days of the end of the close date. The Teacher of the Year’s school will also be contacted within 3 working days of the end of the close date. If the Teacher of the Year, and their school, are both happy to accept the prize, it will be awarded. If the Teacher of the Year, and their school, are not happy to accept their prize, the winner selection process will restart until such time as a Teacher of the Year, and their school, are happy to accept their prize. The Teacher of the Year and their school, and the one (1) person selected at random who nominated the Teacher of the Year must be happy to be part of publicity related to the win.
When does it need to be claimed by: The one (1) person selected at random who nominated the Teacher of the Year, and the Teacher of the Year’s school, must claim their prize by responding to our email within 72 hours of being notified, otherwise the prize will be redrawn. If no response is received by the winner and the Teacher of the Year’s school within 24 hours of being notified, a second email will be sent. If no response is received by the winner and the Teacher of the Year’s school within 48 hours of being notified, a third and final email will be sent.
